Harley Davidson, is a 5yr old, 16.
2h, 1/2 Friesian, ½ Percheron gelding.
He is sired by the Friesian stallion Tomke.
He got his width and bone structure from the Percheron, and his hair and athleticism from the Friesian!
This baroque beauty has been allowed to fully mature before being put under saddle, so he is not as far along in his under saddle training as some of his peers.
However, he is well-balanced and wants to please.
He rides English and Western.
He would be best suited to a rider who has experience finishing a green horse, or one working with a trainer.
He is great at riding out on the trail in a group, with my sister’s 8-month-old puppy running around underfoot, which makes me think he might have the potential to be a fox hunter in the future.
My sister and I have introduced him to dressage and jumping this fall and he has taken it in stride.
He is well-mannered on the ground, gets along with other horses, and is easy to catch, bathe, fly spray, load, and unload from the trailer.
He lives at pasture full-time in a mixed herd and gets along with everyone, he is also fine in a stall.
I could see him excelling as a first/second flight fox-hunter, eventer, or climbing the levels in dressage.
If you want a baroque beauty to finish in your discipline of choice, consider Harley.
