Job Title: Manager, Gift Shop (PT w/ Benefits) Days, Volunteers and Aux - Johnson City, TN Job Code: MSHA000APH Location: JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER, Johnson City, TN Position Type: Part-time w/ Benefits (scheduled 60-71 hrs per pay period) Job Definition Job Description SCOPE OF POSITION The Manager, Gift Shop has the primary responsibility of overseeing Ballad Health's purchasing strategies, policies, procedures, and processes consistent with the Volunteer/Auxiliary Gift Ship expectations and Ballad's mission and strategic objectives as establish.
This position oversees approximately $1M in sales annually.
The Manager is to assist the Corporate Director of Volunteer and Auxiliary Resources to maximize GPO contracts, purchasing opportunities, and develop negotiated contracts to increase income for this area.
The Manager for the gift shops will consistently be resourceful in finding new and creative ways to optimize the work of the hospitals' retail buyers.
The Manager is responsible for furthering the development of innovative solutions to reduce procurement supply costs, and the implementation of product standardization and addressing utilization opportunities.
The Manager is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of inventories for the gift shops.
The Manager directly assists facilities with a variety of inventory management, contract compliance, and stock management responsibilities.
Additionally, the Manager is responsible for point of sale order system support.
This individual will develop and execute a strategic sourcing process for the gift shops related goods and services.
The Manager monitors sales daily at each location.
The position is also responsible for setting up newly acquired stores with cash registers/POS system, serving as the liaison between the IS system and the POS system including any updates.
The Manager is responsible for analysis and procurement of a wide range of merchandise for up to twenty retail store locations and manages up to $1M in annual sales.
This individual will ensure proactive maintenance of inventory for all locations.
The Manager will monitor supplier performance and manage continuous quality improvement.
The Manager will identify and develop cost saving alternatives.
The incumbent will ensure on-time delivery performance from suppliers and communicate regarding status of purchase orders and any changes.
Additionally, the Manager must ensure that all materials are purchased in a timely and competitive manner to support production/operations groups.
The Manager will qualify and select appropriate vendors and coordinate contract and system compliance and track realized savings and income.
In addition, this individual will implement a continuous improvement cycle to realize year on year incremental improvements and cost savings.
The Manager will also leverage spending in the alliance to maximize benefits to all impacted sites.
The Manager will be responsible for all Auxiliary retail operations, budgets, daily/monthly sales while working harmoniously with accounting representatives, as well as to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff, external agencies, and the business community.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or Retail Management required.
Minimum five years experience in retail management.
Candidate must be motivated, with high personal integrity.
Positive attitude, as well as, excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills to manage different priorities.
The successful candidate must have the ability to deal with all levels of an organization and have excellent communication and customer services skills.
Demonstrate skills in developing strong business relationships.
