*POSITION:* Ophthalmology Assistant/Technician/Scribe
*Will train qualified candidate, but ophthalmic knowledge or healthcare experience beneficial.
*
*JOB DESCRIPTION:* Supports ophthalmologists by interviewing patients to obtain medical and ocular history, scribing, performing preliminary testing, assisting physicians as needed, patient work up, and diagnostic testing.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Interview patients and document ocular and medical histories into Electronic Health Record
* Scribe for different specialties
* Perform a variety of routine tests using ophthalmic instruments that provide diagnostic information including but not limited to: intraocular pressure, basic motility, visual fields, fundus photography OCT, refractions, biometry, and topography.
* Administer topical medications or diagnostic drugs as directed by physician
* Assisting physician with minor surgical procedures, sterile preparations, and documentation
* Maintain confidentiality of patient records
* Prepare procedure and exam rooms
* Perform basic triage
* Communicate clearly with patients
* Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures including, but not limited to: standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance
* Work as a team player
* Perform other duties as assigned
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*
* High school diploma or GED
