Garage hours are 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday (8hr shift with 1 hour unpaid for lunch).

POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: The employee in this class is under direct supervision.
Work performed is to assist with mechanical maintenance on FTHRA’S Transportation Program vehicles with special emphasis on preventative maintenance.
Other work performed as required.
Work uniform and cleaning provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in maintaining the FTHRA Transportation preventative and routine maintenance program.
Perform, but not limited to, routine oil changes, tire mounting and balancing, tire rotations, transmission servicing, brake service, and other standard mechanical functions.
Assist with and perform mechanical diagnostics.
Assist with training drivers in problem areas of van operation that effects maintenance.
Responsible for cleaning shop area and organizing tools and equipment.
Assist with recommendations to upgrade and improve maintenance system.
Assist with development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures.
Wash and detail transportation fleet as needed.
Assist with scheduling of maintenance that is performed by other vendors.
Abides by FTHRA Personnel Rules and Regulations as may be amended from time to time.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED and automotive training from trade school or other specialized institution.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Previous automotive experience preferred.
Position requires frequent bending, and lifting.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs, frequently lift 60-65 lbs.
Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Computer skills preferred.
Must have basic automotive tools.
Position is safety sensitive and subject to FTA Drug & Alcohol testing and policies.
