*This is a Part-time Temp position, 15-22.
5 hours weekly, that will be primarily assigned to one of our 3 clinics located in Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol*
Work performed involves knowledge of the basic principles and practices of nursing, and a variety of tasks in an ambulatory health care setting including:
* Assisting professional nurses in all aspects of clinical care.
* Administer injections.
* Performing EKGs.
* Gathering specimens.
* Assisting with special procedures and general workups.
* Performing other related non-professional nursing and clerical duties as required.
* Assist other clinics as needed to provide appropriate coverage for staffing shortages.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*
* Ability to utilize electronic health record system for accomplishing daily tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, physicians, and co-workers both orally and in writing.
* Ability to communicate professionally via telephone with pharmacies, providers, and community agencies as needed.
* Ability to effectively communicate patient needs to providers.
* Ability to handle all patient information responsibly.
* Ability to adhere to and apply all university, college, department, and clinic policies and procedures.
* Ability to behave professionally at all times and present a positive image of the facility.
* Ability to work as a team member.
* Ability to maintain quality control standards.
* Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
* Ability to pay attention to details.
* Ability to apply time management principles in order to accomplish assigned duties.
* Knowledge of accepted nursing/CMA standards and practices.
* Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and guidelines.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Knowledge of basic pharmacology.
* Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of nursing.
* Basic computer skills.
* Skilled in providing patient care in accordance with the facility’s applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
*Required Qualifications*
* High school graduate.
* CMA, RMA, LPN, or RN required.
* Current CPR card required.
